South Africa’s indigenous vegetation has adapted to fire and in many areas fire is a requirement for the health of the ecosystem. We have heard this before, but as winter approaches, the threat of fire becomes overwhelming for many landowners. Fires can “destroy” people’s property, but it can also improve their property.
Sally will be taking about fire management strategies and the degree to which burns (natural or controlled) are necessary.
