    Join us to learn about ALL the weeds, either for just Saturday or camp over until Sunday.

    We intend to set up 5-6 abseils on the scrabbly cliffs of Boekenhoutskloof, doing a follow-up on Lantana and Prickly pear.

    Welding gloves are advised for this exercise. The peeps below in the valley will have Crofton, Amaranth, Inkberry, Gooseberry and Pompom to contend with.

    Gardening gloves, a lady’s fork and crofton cropper are the tools to bring if you have them.

    We will park sedans at the reservoir and high-rise vehicles will transport everyone to the overnight site.

    This 4.6km hike in the Magaliesberg Biosphere includes some grade 8 scrambling to cross the Grootkloof Gorge to reach the Free Standing “Isolation Pinnacle”.
    We climb the Pinnacle and picnic on top before abseiling down the other side.

    This adventure is ideal for Hikers/Beginner Climbers who can rope up for the scrambles (as needed) and who can follow the Single Pitch Grade 10 climb on Top Rope. Beginner Trad climbers wanting to Lead the route are also welcome.  Due to limited space on the Pinnacle – numbers will be limited.

    We require you to attend a prospective member’s talk. At the talk we will give a breakdown as to what the club is all about and a chance to meet some of our committee members. This is all in an effort for you to access if the club will be the best fit for you and your goals.

     

    The talks take place every two weeks on a Monday night at 19:00 at our offices situated in City Rock Johannesburg (46 Fourth Ave S, Fontainebleau, Randburg, 2194)
