Rescue isn’t about knowing the solution to a specific problem, but rather knowing how to use the “building block” techniques as tools in a toolbox, and combining them to solve the problem. This is largely because the problems we need to solve are seldom “textbook”cases. This incident is an illustration of that: which textbook could ever have contemplated an aeroplane suspended from a 2 km long zip-line by its nose, with 2 people inside?
