- Climbing @ Hamerkop with Mike Byrd
Meet leader: Mike Byrd – 083 625 6294 – email email@example.com
Hamerkop Kloof is a long kloof, the lower part of which is owned by the Hamerkop Mountain Trust while the upper part is privately owned, so off limits unless you have a permit from the landowner. The kloof is home to over 200 trad climbs along its length, of which most are grade 18 and below. Many of the routes are also one pitch long, making the area a safe and fun venue for people starting trad climbing. Hamerkop has one of the shortest walk-ins of any of the Magaliesberg kloofs, making it a popular crag for families with young children.

- Climbing @ Kransberg weekend with Chris Ziranek CANCELLED due to weather
Meet leader: Chris Ziranek – email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Kransberg offers good quality multi-pitch climbing at moderate grades. With routes of between 3 and 6 pitches long and grades from 11 to 22 it is a great place to hone your multi-pitch skills before heading off to Blouberg. The exposure is excellent, and the birdlife unrivalled. Car camping. Bring your own water for the camp-site.
The walk in is steep, and for most sections without a path. Expect a little bush bashing and wear long pants. The hike to the base of the cliffs takes about an hour. You must contact Chris if you wish to participate!
