Kyrgyzstan 2012 Expedition

Ulrike Kiefer is organising a climbing/trekking trip to the mountains of Kyrgyzstan. The plan includes about a week of trekking in the remote Jetim Bel area, with two days set aside for ascents of mountains, and another week of trekking and climbing in the Son-Kul Canyons. With travelling in the country that adds up to three weeks there. Jetim Bel is a rarely visited area with lots of uncharted mountains. The Son-Kul Canyons are amazing 900m limestone cliffs. Some climbing has been done there, but a lot remains to be done. Approximate time is mid-July to early August. The costs are about R10 000 for the flight to Bishkek and R10 000 for almost everything in the country.
